I am an immigration attorney, advocate, and consultant dedicated to serving individuals, mission-driven organizations, and communities with compassion, integrity, and strategic vision. I graduated from Calvin University in 2008 with degrees in Spanish and social work before earning my law degree cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law in 2012, specializing in public interest, immigration, and Indian law. Over the course of my career, I have provided direct legal representation through the Diocese of Grand Rapids Immigration Legal Services, Waller Law Office, and Justice for Our Neighbors. In 2015, I founded Lighthouse Immigrant Advocates—a nonprofit legal clinic—and led the organization for a decade before establishing Yore Law Office & Consulting in 2025.

My practice blends direct legal advocacy with comprehensive consulting for individuals and tax-exempt entities. In addition to complex immigration law, I provide trauma-informed Title IX advising for both complainants and respondents, supported by specific training in the Title IX administrative process. As a consultant to non-profits and tax-exempt organizations, I leverage my hands-on founder experience to offer strategic planning, operational audits, entity formation, program building, and board leadership development.

Beyond my practice, I am deeply committed to community leadership and systemic advocacy. I currently serve as Chair of the State Bar of Michigan Immigration Law Section and Co-Chair of the Board for Out on the Lakeshore, and previously co-chaired the Michigan Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. Honored as the Holland Young Professional of the Year and recipient of the City of Holland Human Relations Commission Social Justice Award, I bring fluent Spanish, lived international experience in Honduras and Mexico, and a trauma-informed lens to all my public speaking, training, and client representation.
